Review: Epiphone Casino Coupe and Riviera Custom P-93

Since 1961, the legendary Casino has been Epiphone’s best-selling archtop and a rock ‘n’ roll standard. First introduced in 1961, the Casino was just one of several new thinline archtops designed and produced at the company’s adopted new factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan that it shared with one-time competitor and new partner, Gibson. The Casino was first adopted by Keith Richards of The New Epiphone Casino Problems. By indysmith, October 1, 2009 in Epiphone Electrics. Hi All I've recently traded in my Epiphone Dot for a lovely Epiphone Casino (449 RRP) in Cherry Red. I always liked the sound I got from the Dot, but the playability Epiphone's original semi-acoustic, the Casino has changed little over the years. The combination of the hollow body and twin P90 pickups deliver a warm yet bright sound that sparkles. Since 1961, the Casino™ has been Epiphone’s best-selling archtop and a rock ‘n’ roll standard. Over the years it has been the choice of players including blues legend Howlin' Wolf, Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, and John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison of The Beatles. Now available in three new Worn finishes, including Worn Olive Drab, Worn Ebony, and Worn Blue Denim MANUFACTURER Epiphone Guitar Corp., epiphone.com. The Casino Coupe features the same compact body size as Epiphone’s ES-339 model while retaining a fully hollowbody design. The Casino Coupe’s two P-90 single-coil pickups deliver classic, assertive Casino tones but with more focused midrange and less susceptibility to feedback. Epiphone Casino Hollowbody + P90 = Feedback It's how they are I'm afraid! I can even get feedback when playing through a clean channel if I try hard enough :) There are certain things you can do to help 'manage' the problem, this is what I do..... 1. Use a Boss NS2 pedal to reduce unwanted noise, 2. When playing live, have your amp facing I just purchased an Epiphone Casino and when I turn my amplifier up to the volume level that I need for stage work, I get a large amount of guitar feedback. None of my other guitars do this. (I also play a Strat and a PRS) I love the guitar, but how can I gig with it and not have feedback problems? Answer: The reason that you're having feedback occur is because the Casino is a hollow body The Epiphone Casino has a lot of tonal range to offer and can easily switch from a clean tones to distortion. The control knobs cater to volume and tone for each pickup and a 3-way toggle switch that can be very handy to dial in the right sound on the fly. It is shipped with stock D’Addario 0.10-0.46 strings which are a good match for the capabilities of this guitar. Dopro 4x Metric LP Black with Red Custom Guitar Speed Dial Knobs Control Knobs for Epiphone Les Paul/Import Guitar Bass Actually rare Epiphone Casino in Teal/Aqua/Sea-Foam Green. It is as pristine and clean as it gets for a 1997 Epiphone, guitars that aren't known for sitting in a collectors closet in its case but the original owner clearly put this one aside and let it age to perfection. I must say, Epiphone(as well as Gibson) was at their prime in the mid-late 90's. No chinese factories, no raid on woods
